About One Pencil Namibia
One Pencil Namibia (OPN) is a registered non-profit organization (Section 21) based in Opuwo, Namibia. We work in close partnership with local NGOs, schools, and communities to support education, public health, and community development initiatives across the Kunene region and into southern Angola.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to outreach and collaboration—communities are not just recipients of aid but equal partners in shaping and sustaining our work. We are proud to support Indigenous groups including the Himba, Twe, and others whose knowledge, resilience, and cultural heritage are central to our efforts.
Our work is sustained through generous donations and by offering lodging to interns, students, researchers, and visitors who seek to engage with and learn from the communities of Kunene. We also collaborate with universities and civil society organizations throughout southern Africa to build sustainable and effective solutions to local and regional challenges.
One Pencil Namibia believes that long-term impact is built on respect, reciprocity, and the shared pursuit of thriving, self-determined futures.
